The Pyrenees Motel is a small, country motel situated in the western Victorian town of Avoca.

The motel was completely refurbished under new ownership in 2016 and now offers eight comfortable air-conditioned ground floor suites with modern spa-shower ensuites, queen beds, (singles also available on request), flat-screen televisions, a fully equipped communal kitchen with free tea and coffee-making facilities, shared covered barbeuce area and a generous shared recreational room. Tariffs are extremely reasonable and include free WiFi and continental make-your-own breakfast.

The centre of Avoca is only a short stroll away, and along both sides of the main street you will find cafes, antique shops and galleries, collectable and opportunity shops, bakeries, take-away food outlets, supermarket, hardware store, newsagent, pharmacy, milk bar and pubs, including the famous Avoca Hotel. There is also a branch of the Bendigo Bank in town and a marvellous heritage Post Office. Down towards the Avoca River there is a beautiful and tranquil Chinese Heritage Garden, as well grassy, shaded river flats beside the river itself where you can enjoy a peaceful stroll.

Across Victoria’s Midwest, we acknowledge that we travel across the ancient landscapes of many First Peoples communities.

These lands have been nurtured and cared for over tens of thousands of years and we respect the work of Traditional Custodians for their ongoing care and protection.

We recognise the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in this country. As our knowledge grows, we hope that we can learn from their resilience and creativity that has guided them for over 60,000 years.

As we invite people to visit and explore Victoria’s Midwest, we ask that alongside us, you also grow to respect the stories, living culture and connection to Country of the Ancestors and Elders of our First Peoples.
