Day Five – Five Golden Rings

https://content.madeofballarat2019.com/app/uploads/2019/11/5dcaa637c39dd2cb3aaa9097.jpeg

Emily Van Der Molen believes there is a reason no one has ever found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. This is because in actual fact, rainbows are rings around the earth we can only ever see half of. It is within this visual poetry that she found her inspiration. See Emily’s interpretation of Day Five at 16 Lydiard St Nth.

Emily Van Der Molen is a multi faceted local artist who sees the world through a kaleidoscopic filter. She works in a range of mediums that aim to tear down the boundaries between art and craft, transforming a lifetime of collected imagery into a celebration of quirk and colour.

The 12 days of Christmas Windows will surprise and delight. The collection of temporary artworks is inspired by the Twelve Days of Christmas and will be a nod to local traditions, with an emphasis on the regional city, Ballarat’s heritage, First Nations peoples and our shared future.

Follow the trail of 12 Christmas windows, starting with the Partridge in a Pear Tree at Central Square and continue down through the streets to 12 Drummers Drumming in the Bridge Mall.
